How I found design
Design

Back when I was in 9th standard, I had my first introduction to graphic design. It was something new, something different, and it definitely caught my curiosity. But at that time, I didn’t think much of it. Life moved on, school subjects took priority, and that little spark faded into the background.
Those years were my peak in sports, overall fitness, gaming !!
Fast forward to my 12th standard, and that spark reignited. I got into designing posters for my own esports team, along with some thumbnails, just for fun. The catch? I was doing everything on my phone using apps like PicsArt. It wasn’t anything fancy, but I loved the process—experimenting, tweaking, and creating something from scratch. For a while, I felt like I had found something I truly enjoyed. But then, final exams came along, and once again, design took a backseat.
After school, I ended up pursuing a Bachelor’s in Commerce. Not because I wanted to, but because of peer pressure. Everyone around me was taking the “safe” route, and I convinced myself that maybe this was the right path too. But deep down, I knew it wasn’t. I was uninterested, unmotivated, and honestly, just dragging myself through it. Two years in, I felt completely stuck, almost hopeless about my future.
Then, the COVID lockdown happened. And in that pause, when everything slowed down, I finally had time to reflect. That’s when I decided to give design one more shot. I enrolled in a graphic design course—both online and offline—and learned the major tools and software. This time, I didn’t let go. The more I learned, the more I realised this was what I was meant to do. Eventually, I made a bold decision: I dropped out of college and fully committed to becoming a designer.
Looking back, it was a journey filled with pauses and detours, but every step played a role in shaping where I am today. What started as a hobby on a phone app turned into a career that I truly love. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
